Today...

I am finding a lot of comfort in creating my patchwork quilt that I am working on. I love the freeness of it, of not having to have it look pretty in any particular way, instead certain patches catch your eye, certain combinations look nice together. I am excited to see how it all comes together.

I have sewn three of the strips together, and am working on cutting the rest of the squares. It is a meditative process, I love working with the fabric, there is something wonderful about each one. There are so many different colors, hues, patterns, it is exciting to me.

I even have a piece of fabric from my grandmother, who passed away this month. I am excited to incorporate her into my quilt, but more importantly into my life.

I won't be able to work on it this weekend as we are heading up to the mountains, but perhaps when we come home on Monday.

Never fear as I am bringing several different projects with me to keep me occupied :)
